Please avoid sending sensitive personal data (e.g., health data, ID numbers) via general contact forms unless we specifically request it for a defined purpose.

C) Newsletter-related data (Brevo)

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect and store your subscription data (e.g., email address, and optionally your name/institution). We use Brevo as our email/newsletter service provider.

D) Analytics data (Google Analytics)

E) Event registration data

For ABMS FBiH events, we may use Payment processor for registrations. In that context, ABMS FBiH is the data controller for attendee data, and Payment processor acts as a processor on our behalf.Ticket Tailor for registrations. 4) How we use personal data (purposes)

We use personal data to:

  • respond to your inquiries and communicate with you,
  • administer newsletter subscriptions and send updates about ABMS activities,
  • manage event registrations, attendance lists, certificates, and event communications,
  • process grant/education applications (where applicable),
  • maintain website security, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues,
  • analyze website usage to improve content and performance (analytics),
  • comply with legal obligations and defend legal claims when necessary.

7) Newsletters: what happens when you subscribe

We use Newsletter processors to store subscriber lists and send newsletters.

Unsubscribe: every newsletter includes an unsubscribe option.

8) Membership registrations and payments

When you register for an ABMS membership:

  • ABMS FBiH determines why attendee data is collected and how it's used (controller),
  • Membership processors process attendee data to provide the registration service (processor).

9) Who we share personal data with

We do not sell your personal data.

We may share personal data with:

  • Service providers supporting website hosting, security, and maintenance,
  • Newsletter processors (newsletter communications),
  • Google Analytics (website analytics),
  • Relevant payment providers (membership registration and payments),
  • Authorities or professional advisers when required by law or needed to protect our rights and security.

We share only what is necessary for the specific purpose.

10) International data transfers (important note)

Some of our service providers may process data outside Bosnia and Herzegovina.

For example, Google's Analytics data processing terms indicate that Google may transfer, store, and process customer personal data in the United States or other countries where Google maintains facilities.

When international transfers occur, we aim to use appropriate safeguards (e.g., contractual protections). Google describes the role of Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) as a mechanism for protecting transferred data in certain circumstances.

11) How long we keep personal data (retention)

We retain personal data only as long as needed for the purposes described above:

  • Contact inquiries: typically up to 12 months after the last communication
  • Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe (plus a short period to maintain suppression lists)
  • Event registrations: typically up to 5 years (e.g., certificates, reporting, resolving disputes)
  • Grant/education applications: typically up to 5 years after the program cycle ends
  • Security logs: typically up to 90 days, unless needed longer to investigate incidents

Retention may be longer if required by law or necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

12) Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data (e.g., access controls, HTTPS in transit where available, backups, and limited access). No system is completely secure, but we work to reduce risk.

13) Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • correct inaccurate data,

  • object to certain processing,
  • withdraw consent (where processing is based on consent).
